Dear Dr. Yu,

It has been almost a year since I have seen you, and I wanted to give you an update on my progress.  As you know in August of 2016 I came to you with a diagnosis of T2 Urothelial Carcinoma (bladder cancer).  The tumor was located in the wall of my bladder, and had begun to protrude into my bladder.   My weight had dropped from 175 to 133 pounds, and one kidney ureter was completely obstructed.

Your course of treatment for my diagnosis was to begin the UMIPIC Treatment, which would be injected through my back directly into the tumor.  I had 3 treatments during that stay.  In November I chose to go back to San Diego to visit you once more for a progress report.  In doing so, we found that my other ureter was being encroached on by the tumor located in the bladder wall.  However, the visible tumor in the bladder was smaller, and the tumor was showing signs of necrosis.

Upon reviewing my situation in November, you suggested we use the Green Light Laser to clear around the ureter, and to administer one more dose of the Sonata treatment directly to the tumor.

In March of 2017, I visited my urologist in Oklahoma, and he was shocked at the change in the tumor size.  It was much smaller. Then in June, I visited him once more, and he said there were no visible signs of the tumor in the bladder.  Since November, I have steadily gained weight and am pleased to report that I now weigh 147 pounds.   My stamina is returning and I am walking a mile and a half.

My original diagnosis prompted 3 physicians to tell me the only course of action was to remove my bladder and prostate or I would not likely live past December 2016.  After your treatments it appears that my cancer is cured.  I still have my bladder and prostate.  I hope that I will be back to a healthy weight soon, and I am already back to work and enjoying the normalcy of life.

Dianne and I want you to know how much we appreciate all you have done for us.

Your dedication and life work is helping so many people.

Thank you for going above and beyond the standard treatments that are available and saving lives.

With Warm Regards,
